Day 2 Chengdu Tianfu
Arrive in the morning, have breakfast, then visit the Panda Base. Lunch will feature medicinal food specialties. Afterward, head to the hotel for rest. Walk through customs at 10:00 pm.

 

Day 3 Tianfu - Cairo (Lunch, Dinner)
Take flight 3U3863 TFUCAI 0145/0645. After arrival, head to the world-famous Egyptian Museum (guided tour). The magnificent museum displays over 63,000 artifacts, each shining with the glow of ancient civilizations. It is a gem among world museums. The museum was designed and built by the French archaeologist Mariette, known as the "Father of the Egyptian Museum," in 1858 in northern Cairo. It is one of the world's most famous museums, with a collection of over 300,000 artifacts, 63,000 of which are on display, representing about one-fifth of the total collection. Then visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum, which has not officially opened, but you can view the lobby. After dinner, transfer to the hotel for rest.

Day 4 Cairo (Hotel Breakfast/Pyramid View Restaurant Lunch/Boat Dinner)
After hotel breakfast, head to Memphis, one of Egypt's most important cities. Since the 3rd century BC, this "City of the Dead" was the capital during the reign of King Menes, unifying Upper and Lower Egypt. Visit the Step Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara, which is the first pyramid in Egypt's history, over 4,500 years old. It is the oldest monument still existing and the oldest stone building in history. It is also known as the Step Pyramid and is designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Bent Pyramid is located in the Dahshur royal cemetery and was built during the reign of Pharaoh Sneferu of the Fourth Dynasty. Its base is a square with sides of about 189 meters, and it is 105 meters high. The unique feature is that the pyramid changes its angle halfway up, making it look bent. The Red Pyramid was also built by Pharaoh Sneferu during the Fourth Dynasty. It is named for the reddish limestone used in its construction. Originally, it had a white limestone cover, but during the medieval period, much of the white limestone was removed for use in Cairo's buildings, revealing the red stone inside. The Red Pyramid is the third-largest pyramid in Egypt and the fourth-highest among all pyramids. It was the first pyramid to have the typical pyramid shape, which influenced the later pyramids at Giza. Then, head to the Great Pyramid of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Ride a camel across the desert to explore the pyramids and learn about their fascinating history. The pyramids at Giza were constructed starting around 2600 BC, and there are 96 pyramids in total, most of which are located in the desert southwest of Cairo. The largest and most famous ones are the Giza pyramids, consisting of the three pyramids of Pharaohs Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus. Next, visit the Sphinx, a mythical creature with the body of a lion and the head of a Pharaoh, featuring the "cobra" emblem. Afterward, enjoy lunch at a pyramid-view restaurant, followed by dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 5 Cairo (Breakfast/Local Lunch)
After hotel breakfast, visit the Salah El-Din Citadel, a massive medieval fortress in Cairo. Explore this ancient stronghold and admire the magnificent domed ceilings, chandeliers, and the stunning views of Cairo. The citadel houses the Muhammad Ali Mosque, which began construction in 1830 and was completed in 1857. Designed by a Greek architect, it features Turkish-style, multi-layered domes and slender minarets. The mosque’s dome is 52 meters high, and the large dome has a diameter of 21 meters. Afterward, drive to Old Cairo, visit the Coptic Cairo area, including the Babylon Fortress, the Hanging Church, St. George Greek Church, and many other Coptic churches and historical sites. The Holy Family is believed to have visited this area and stayed at the site of the Abu Serga Church. Then, stroll through the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a narrow stone-paved street filled with a strong commercial atmosphere, where gold and silver jewelry glisten and Arab-style goods abound. Visit the 200-year-old Fayza Café and enjoy a special coffee, a favorite of Nobel Laureate Naguib Mahfouz. Finally, see Papyrus Paintings, made from papyrus plants and used by the ancient Egyptians to depict their lives, work, and religion. Afterward, visit a Perfume Shop, where you can learn that “without Egyptian perfume, there would be no Paris perfume.” Dinner is at your own expense.

Day 6 Cairo - Flight - Aswan (Hotel/Pack Breakfast/Local Lunch/Afternoon Tea)
After hotel breakfast, head to the airport for a domestic flight to Aswan. After arrival, visit the Aswan High Dam, a great source of pride for the Egyptian people and government. Then, visit the Philae Temple (inside visit), which was submerged by the Nile River due to the dam’s construction but was later relocated using electric cutting techniques to its current site. Enjoy afternoon tea at the Sofitel Old Cataract Hotel, where famed detective novel author Agatha Christie once stayed and wrote her classic novel Death on the Nile.

Day 7 Aswan (Hotel Breakfast/Cruise Lunch/Cruise Dinner)
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy free time to rest. In the afternoon, board the cruise ship to begin your Nile cruise. Sail by felucca to visit the Nubian Village, where you will see colorful houses that create a vibrant picture against the green fields and swaying palm trees. Nubians have lived in this area for centuries, and although their language does not have a written form, their culture has been preserved. Visit this mysterious village, which feels as though it has emerged from a thousand-year time tunnel. After the visit, return to the cruise ship.

Day 8 Aswan - Abu Simbel - Edfu (Cruise Breakfast/Cruise Lunch/Cruise Dinner)
After breakfast on the cruise, visit the Abu Simbel Temples, located in southern Egypt. Built between 1300 and 1233 BC during the reign of Pharaoh Ramses II, the temples are an important tourist attraction in Aswan.

The large rock-cut temple was built by Ramses II in the morning, and is the most protected ruin of the New Kingdom pharaohs. The temple is not merely a pile of giant stones but is a magnificent structure, 36 meters wide, 30 meters high, and 60 meters deep, carved into the pink sandstone cliffs on the west bank of the Nile River. In front of the temple entrance, four colossal seated statues of Ramses II, each 20 meters high and weighing over 1200 tons, were carved. Small statues of his mother, wife, and children are scattered around the statues, all lifelike. Despite enduring over 3,000 years of wind and rain, the statues remain intact, showcasing the durability of the stone and the level of craftsmanship the ancient Egyptians demonstrated more than 3,000 years ago, leaving future generations in awe. Due to the construction of the Aswan Dam, the entire temple was relocated, representing a successful attempt at protecting world heritage buildings. After lunch, visit the [Kom Ombo Temple] (approximately 1.5 hours of interior visit); the temple features a symmetrical structure, with the Crocodile God Sobek Temple and the Falcon God Temple being connected buildings, each having unique characteristics. After the visit, return to the cruise ship; continue heading toward Edfu. Enjoy a buffet dinner on board.

Upon arrival, walk through the [Edfu Temple] (approximately 1.5 hours of interior visit), where two massive falcon statues at the entrance and the emblem of the Horus god are particularly striking. This temple is the best-preserved temple in Egypt and ranks second in scale only to the Karnak Temple. The temple, with a history of about 2,300 years, is where a fierce battle occurred between the Owl God Horus of Lower Egypt and the Set God of Upper Egypt. This event is recorded on the entrance door. After the visit, return to the cruise ship; continue on to Luxor, passing through the Esna Lock. Enjoy a buffet dinner on board.

Day 10: Luxor (Cruise Breakfast / Local Lunch)
After a cruise breakfast, conclude the pleasant cruise journey. Drive to the Dendera region to visit the Hathor Temple, learning more about the main temple dedicated to the goddess Hathor. The Dendera Temple complex is one of the best-preserved temple complexes in Egypt, with the main building being the Hathor Temple, the best-preserved temple with wall paintings in Egypt. Proceed to Abydos to visit the Seti I Temple. Seti I was one of Egypt's greatest rulers and architects; he led the construction of one of Egypt's greatest temples (located in Abydos) and the magnificent pillared halls of Karnak. Under his reign, rich and varied art and architecture emerged, with a focus on details and no expense spared. Unfortunately, Seti I passed away before the completion of the temple, and his son Ramses II fulfilled his wishes. This temple also contains the temple and tomb of Ramses I. Dinner is self-arranged.

Day 11: Luxor (Hotel Breakfast / Local Lunch)
After a hotel breakfast, visit the West Bank of Luxor. Head to the ancient Egyptian capital Thebes, known as the "City of a Hundred Gates," to visit the [Valley of the Kings] royal tombs (the tombs of Seti I, Tutankhamun, Ramses V, and Ramses VI—two pharaohs in one tomb). The Valley of the Kings is the site of many pharaohs' tombs in ancient Egypt. The tomb of Ramses VI contains vivid and well-preserved frescoes and reliefs, and it is one of the most beautiful and relatively well-preserved underground tombs in the Valley. Then, visit the [Hatshepsut Temple]. Proceed to visit the Temple of Medinet Habu, the tomb of Ramses III, which is relatively well-preserved. It is the last large architectural project of the Pharaoh's reign and also commemorates the last period of Egypt's prosperity. The temple's outer walls are decorated with famous panoramic reliefs. Standing between the Nile's west bank and the Valley of the Kings, there are two "singing" [Colossi of Memnon]. Dinner is self-arranged.

Day 12: Luxor - Hurghada (Red Sea) (Breakfast / Lunch / Hotel Dinner)
After a hotel breakfast, visit the [Karnak Temple], which is dedicated to the pharaohs throughout history. The temple's architectural principles and layout are impressive, making it the largest ancient religious site in the world. The Karnak Temple began construction over 3,900 years ago and is located in the northern part of Luxor. It is a magnificent temple from ancient Egypt's empire. The temple contains over 20 temples, 134 massive stone columns, lion-headed ram statues, and other relics, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Karnak Temple was part of Thebes, the capital during Egypt's Middle and New Kingdoms. It is the worship center of the sun god Amun and houses Egypt's largest temple. The temple's columns and walls are adorned with exquisite reliefs and vibrant paintings, depicting Egyptian myths and the daily life of ancient Egyptians. Then, visit the [Luxor Temple], which is 260 meters long and was built by Amenhotep III to honor the sun god Amun, his queen, and the moon god. During the Nineteenth Dynasty, it was expanded by Ramses II to form the present structure. Then, drive to the Red Sea.

Day 15: Cairo - Alexandria - Cairo (Breakfast / Local Seafood Lunch)
After breakfast, drive to Alexandria, the city once ruled by Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt. This Mediterranean city is also called the "Bride of the Mediterranean." Upon arrival, enjoy a seafood meal at a unique seaside restaurant, then visit Pompey's Pillar (approximately 15 minutes of interior visit). Pompey's Pillar, also known as the Pillar of the Knights, is a giant pink Aswan granite pillar erected in 297 AD. It stands alone in the ruins of the Serapeum Temple in the southwest corner of Alexandria. It was originally built to commemorate the emperor Diocletian's relief efforts during a famine, and inscriptions on the base commemorate his actions. It later became a landmark for sailors. Afterward, view the Alexandria Library (exterior), the ancient castle where the Alexandria Lighthouse once stood, and the Montaza Palace Gardens (approximately 30 minutes of interior visit). Relish the tales of Cleopatra's legendary beauty and charm. The Montaza Palace Gardens, also known as the "Summer Palace," was the residence of Egypt's last king, Farouk. It is surrounded by a large park and offers spectacular views. Sadly, the famous Alexandria Lighthouse, once considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, has long sunk into the sea due to an earthquake. Afterward, return to Cairo by car.

Arrive at Tianfu Airport at 5:20 am, then enjoy a breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Sanxingdui site to experience the remarkable achievements of ancient Chinese civilization. Lunch will feature a special Chengdu hotpot. Then, return to the hotel for rest. In the evening, walk to the airport.
